Ant can Lift Objects that are 50 Heavier than Itself?

Do you know why ants can lift heavy weights?
Although the body size is relatively small, in fact ants are among the strongest animals in the world. A worker ant can lift objects weighing 5-10 times its body weight, as well as pulling objects that are 20-50 times heavier than the ant itself.

Do you know why ants can lift heavy weights? Actually, the muscles of ants are not stronger than the muscles of humans. However, due to the small size of the ants, the ants have proportionally more muscles. Ants have very thick muscles compared to their body area, so they are able to lift loads that are many times greater than their own body weight.

In comparison, elephants are only able to support a load of twice their own weight. This is because the elephant has a large size, but the proportion of muscle mass is quite low.                   The strength of the ant is rivaled only by the rhinoceros beetle. This animal is known to be able to support loads weighing 850 times its own body weight. As small organisms, it is easy for ants to exert enormous force to carry heavy foods. In addition, ants also cooperate with their colonies to move larger objects.
